Hack a global problem!
Purpose
There are many problems on the globe that we need
to find a solution to.
You can help find solutions by designing, being creative
and using the technology you have available.
Right now we are in a situation where soa lot of countries
have imposed a curfew in connection with Covid-19.
This means, it may be difficult for some people to access medication.
You should now think about a solution to this problem and ask yourself:
How can we use robots to help bring medicine to people?
Task
- Use a design-thinking-model for your task:
- Understand the problem – examine the problem.
- Define the problem – describe what the problem is,
who is involved, where it exists and which challenges
are involved.
E.g. Where does the robot get the medicine?
How does the robot know where to go and which
medicine the patient is in need of? - Generating ideas – brainstorm good ideas for a robot
that can solve this problem: draw them, prioritize them
and share them with others to get feedback.
Select one idea. - Create and describe your prototype –
Build your robot or draw it as a product you think can
solve the problem.
In this phase it is very important that you use your imagination.
Remember what you want to solve.
- Present your idea, to a friend over Facetime or Skype,
or another video conference and ask them for feedback. - You may want to change things within your product after
receiving feedback. - Choose a new challenge and send it to a friend –
maybe they can solve a world problem too?
Test yourself!
Here is an extra challenge to test if you are good at coming up
with ideas when it seems more difficult and impossible:
- What if your robot were to solve the same problem
in the year 2092?
- What if, at the same time, there was war in the country
where Covid-19 is and the roads were impassable?
- What if the robot had to be disinfected after
visiting every single patient?
