You don’t just need coding to code games, or robots.
You can code your own songs.
Here you will learn how to code, be a dj and compose
your own song.
Download Fable Blockly. Please note that this feature is only on Chromebook
and on the iPad version.
You can find the versions for download at this link: Fable Blockly
Open Fable Blockly.
Select a song from the list below.
Code your song with the tones from Fable Blockly combined with actions and loops.
Remember to use the “wait block” to specify the seconds for how long the tone plays. See the example in the picture.
The “wait block” can also change the rhythm of your song.
Press play and enjoy your code-composed music.
Now choose a new song of your own choice and try again.
Remember to save your project in Fable Blockly.
If you want to, you can use the “speech block” to announce the song.
“Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes”
“Wheels on the Bus go round and round”
“I’m a Little Teapot”
What codes are important when making a song?
Remember a small rule for the next time you code a song.
The Fable story starts in 2011 at the Technical University of Denmark just outside Copenhagen.
Moises Pacheco started his collaboration with David Johan Christensen, an associate professor and robot researcher.
